Was ist der Rassmo ?
Der Rassmo entstand im Jahre 2000. Der Gedanke war, die schöne Rasse Mops „robuster“ oder besser „gesünder“ zu machen.
Wie viel besser wäre sein Leben, könnte er freier atmen. Die Mopshalter unter uns sind vertraut mit den Problemen, die in erster Linie auf einem zu kurzen Fang/Nasen-Bereich und zu weit hervortretenden Augäpfeln beruhen.
Die sich daraus ergebenden Atemschwierigkeiten sind kein Geheimnis.
Die Idee der Züchtung des Rassmo ist es, das einmalige Mopswesen mit der fröhlichen Vitalität des Jack Russell Terriers zu kombinieren. Daraus ergibt sich dann die logische Konsequenz, dass sich gleichzeitig ein Teil der Mopsprobleme lösen lässt.
Er müsste nicht mehr so laut schnarchen, man könnte einen kleinen Sprint riskieren, ohne das ein röcheln zu hören wäre. Dadurch ist die Belastbarkeit erhöht.
Als Partner für den Mops entschied man sich für den Jack-Russell-Terrier.
Er ist ein eifriger, intelligenter und kinderlieber Hund, welcher mit einem weichen Maul und ganz ausgezeichneten mütterlichen Qualitäten in der Aufzucht ausgestattet ist. Er verfügt über die so genannten „gentlemanly characteristics“, also ein weitgehend geringes Aggressionspotential.
Die sportliche Körperform des Jack-Russell-Terriers sollte dem Mops nur von Nutzen sein.
Zudem ergaben sich für den Rassmo weitere Vorteile:
Die Augen quellen nicht mehr so stark hervor – die Verletzungsgefahr ist nun wesentlich verringert.
Der Genpool ist nun entscheidend erweitert, der Rassmo ist vitaler.
Es sind bisher keinerlei erblich bedingte Erkrankungen aufgetreten – Patella Luxation, genetisch bedingter T- Zellen Defekt etc.
Allgemeines Erscheinungsbild: Der Rassmo ist ein kleiner, stämmiger Hund mit kurzem, quadratischem und athletischem Gebäude.
Die Muskulatur ist trocken, kräftig entwickelt und plastisch hervortretend. Die Bewegungen sind lebhaft, anmutig und voller Energie.
Verhalten und Charakter: Die fröhliche, clownhafte und verspielte Natur des Rassmo zeichnet ihn als idealen Familienhund aus. Er besitzt viel Charme und Intelligenz, was eine liebevolle und konsequente Erziehung unumgänglich macht.
Sein Wesen ist von allergrößter Wichtigkeit und bedarf sorgsamer Pflege.
Schon als Welpe ist der Rassmo ein ausgesprochener Individualist, der viel Aufmerksamkeit und Zuwendung braucht, dieses aber mit Treue und Anhänglichkeit dankt.
Der Rassmo besitzt eine relativ hohe Reitzschwelle. Auf Artgenossen reagiert er meist aufgeschlossen und ist immer zu einem kleinen Spielchen bereit. Er ist ebenfalls mit Katzen oder anderen Haustieren gut zu halten. Auch für Kinder ist er ein immer spielbereiter Kamerad, welcher schon mal einen Knuff wegsteckt. Sollte es ihm dann doch „zuviel“ werden, zieht er sich dezent zurück.
What is the JUG ?
It is not a dog who can fit into a jug, or who likes to play with jugs or sleeps next to jugs. It is actually quite aptly named because Jug dogs are a cross between a Jack Russell Terrier and a Pug. Based on the comments of breeders who have bred Jug dogs and those who own them, the cross between the two breeds works out perfectly and eases the breathing problems which the typical pug dog has and the risk of damage to the eyes is also reduce due to the longer face feature from the Jack Russell Terrier.
People are always looking to crossbreed dogs, and this is the case for the Jug. In case you did not already know, Jugs are not purebred dogs. They are a cross between a Pug and a Jack Russell Terrier which was founded in the year 2000. In fact, sometimes these dogs are called a Jack Pug, but the name has now been shorten to Jug. Although this is not a purebred dog, they have become very popular around the world, and more and more people are starting to own these dogs in America. So if you want a dog that can give off a lot of love in just a small body, then you want a Jug. There are a few things that you have to watch out for whenever you are buying a cross bred dog.
To have a true cross bred dog, you have to mix a purebred with a purebred. However, a lot of Jug breeds do not do that. A lot of times they will mix a mutt with a Pug or Jack Russell terrier, and the outcome is usually not what you would want in your dog. The only way to breed a Jug is to have a Pug and Jack Russell mate, or to have two Jugs mate. Either way, you are going to come out to the same outcome. Just remember, the more that Jugs mate with each other, the more you are going to be able to start classifying them as an actual breed.
There is no way of being able to determine the temperament of any kind of mixed dog. This goes double for the Jug. Even the Jug puppies are hard to predict. The best thing that you can do is to look at the temperament of the Pug and the temperament of the Jack Russell Terrier, and note that it's going to be somewhere in between there. All these dogs are going to be a bit different. That is because some are going to get more traits from the Jack Russell Terrier, and others are going to get more traits from the Pug. Although, one thing that you can note is that most dogs that are crossbred with a pug, tend to have more of the facial features of the Pug and more of the body type of the Terrier.
The main thing that you should take away from all of this is the fact that a Jug is a dog that makes a good pet. That is because the Pug and the Terrier both makes good pets. When you get these kinds of dogs together, you are going to notice that you get a type of dog that is very in love with people. Although it is not known why these kinds of traits are passed along in dogs, but they are. A Jug is a dog that is going to stick by your side, no matter what. Although they are very small dogs, they do have a pretty big heart. For the most part, they are good with kids, as long as the kids are playing nice with them. All dogs love to play, so when you can play with your dogs, they are going to love it.
